The first activity in the project dedicated to local Georgian radio stations – consultations in the radio editor`s offices - are coming to the end. The team of the project already visited a majority of radio stations, among others radio Mosaic from Gori, WAY from Duisi, Heret from Tbilisi, Marneuli...

There are 12 local radio stations participating in the project. Three of them are currently being created. Consultations in editorial offices present on the Georgian radio market started on June, 11. Coordinators of the project form Polish and Georgian side – Marcin Bank (Democratic Society East) and Tinatin Dvalishvili (Caucasus Center for Journalists) as well as the expert of the project - Anna Kościukiewicz-Jabłońska – editor-in-chief of Kaszëbë Radio are participating in the consultations.

In the Mosaic radio Anna Kościukiewicz-Jabłońska convinced the team to making "a powerful start" of the radio station: to make as many trials as possible (especially for presenter), to find a good specialist for the marketing and advertisement and to get all the team out of the office and meet listeners. To be nearer to them.

Radio Nori is an example of perseverance and belief in success. For a long time they were unable to secure the necessary broadcasting rights and so they started with a loudspeaker attached to a pole in order to reach a nearby audience. Lack of financial resources as well as lack of trust from the authorities were only stimulating new ideas. That`s how radio with broadcasts recorded on CDs appeared and they distributed it among people. The mission of the radio is to be on citizen`s side.

Radio WAY from Duisi was founded in January 2016. The mission of this radio station is to see rapprochement between people. Inhabitants of the town are indigenous Georgians as well as descendants of Chechens. All of them equally reluctant to the microphone and journalists. Founders of the radio believe that someone has to speak about their matters, constantly encourage them to be active. It is going to be a difficult challenge, but possible to overcome.

The next activity in the project will be a workshop for radio journalists in Borjomi. Representatives of 12 local Georgian radio stations will take part in the workshop.

The project "Support of independent local and regional radio stations" is financed with funds from the program `Support of Democracy` within the framework of the Polish development aid program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland in 2016.
